Submission Guidelines
Please read through all of the guidelines before submitting and thank you for your interest in The Viridian Door.

March - May
July - Sept
Nov - Jan

All submissions need to be sent to: theviridiandoor@gmail.com
Please note that we are unable to pay contributors at this time, but we will put whichever tipping link you would like to use (paypal, cashapp, venmo, ko-fi etc.) under your entry if accepted into our magazine.
This magazine is online only as this gives us the opportunity to be able to be free of charge to readers. The Viridian Door is run by volunteers who make no money from the venture.
All Entries Must Include:
- 3rd Person Bio (about 50 words or so)
- Tipping Link if you wish us to use one for you
- Pronouns in Bio
- Any Social Media Links you wish us to use (websites included)
Basics:
- Format your prose and poetry as you see fit. If you think Standard Formatting works for your piece, use it. If you think Classic Formatting works for your piece, use it.
- Attach document to email or post it in the body of your email.
- You may send more works if we decline your work. Please don't send more for the same issue if we have accepted your work for that issue.
Poetry:
- If your poem reaches three pages or more, make sure it is an Epic. If not, if probably won't be accepted, but who knows? If you wish to try anyway, you wont be stopped or penalized
- One to three poems only at a time
- Make sure the Subject in your email says Poetry Submission
Flash Fiction:
- 300 to 1000 words
- One piece submitted at a time please
- Make sure the Subject in your email says Flash Submission
Fiction:
- 1001 to 2500 words
- One piece submitted at a time please
- Make sure the Subject in your email says Fiction Submission
Non-Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction Flash:
- 300 to 1000 words
- One piece submitted at a time please
- Make sure the Subject in your email says Non-Fiction or CNF Flash Submission
Non-Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction:
- 1001 to 2500 words
- One piece submitted at a time please
- Make sure the Subject in your email says Non-Fiction or CNF Submission
Art/Photography:
- Please make sure your entry is HD enough that it will not blur on an A4 document. If the Artwork/Photograph is accepted and it blurs, you will be requested for a higher resolution. If you cannot provide a higher resolution, your acceptance will be formally revoked.
Please Note: Any forms of bullying, Racism, Transphobia, Homophobia, Panphobia, Biphobia, or hatred aimed at another minority not stated in this note is not accepted here. You will be blacklisted immediately.
The Viridian Door reserves the following rights pertaining to publishing material:
The Viridian Door reserves the rights to publish all selected words electronically, as well as representational segments of all written work on our social media accounts.
The Viridian Door retains First North American Publishing Rights, with all other publishing rights returning to the creators with the stipulations that subsequent publications will note that The Viridian Door has been the first publisher of the material.
